Belden, Inc. to grow its headquarters in Carmel

Belden, Inc. (NYSE: BDC), a manufacturer of signal transmission products, announced plans today to expand its operations here, creating up to 40 new jobs by 2014.

The Missouri-based company, which designs, manufactures and markets cable, connectivity and networking products, plans to invest more than $3.1 million to expand its executive headquarters for its Americas division through the leasing and equipping of a new 30,000 square-foot facility in Carmel.

"The growth of existing companies is paramount to Indiana's economic success," said Mitch Roob, Secretary of Commerce and chief executive officer of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. "Our competitive business climate combined with Belden's continued commitment to our state has made for another successful outcome for Hoosiers."

IT consulting firm expanding in Carmel

Allegient, LLC, an information technology consulting firm, announced plans today to expand its operations in Carmel, adding up to 42 highly skilled positions by 2016.

The company, which last week was recognized as a 2011 "Company to Watch" award recipient, will invest $1.65 million to expand its existing location and add new computer hardware and IT equipment.

Bishop garners eighth Super Lawyer honor

Carmel resident Michael P. Bishop, partner at the law firm of Cohen Garelick & Glazier, has received the designation of being named a Super Lawyer for 2011 for an eighth consecutive year. The achievement of Super Lawyer is based on a statewide nomination process and peer evaluations. Only five percent of Indiana attorneys are selected for this honor each year.

Info tech group relocates to Carmel


INTACT Integrated Services, a provider of managed information technology services, announced today that it has relocated its North American headquarters to Carmel and will create up to 100 new jobs by 2015.

The company, which provides a suite of project, support and managed services solutions to the information and communication technology industry - including network development, maintenance and support services for Cisco products - is investing in office space and equipment in Carmel to serve as the company's Americas division headquarters. INTACT was formerly housed in suburban Cincinnati.

"Indiana is fast establishing itself as a center of growth in the information technology industry," said Governor Mitch Daniels. "These are good jobs that provide attractive wages for our most talented young people."

INTACT plans to begin hiring network engineers and project consultants immediately as facility upgrades are completed. The company began operations in the Carmel office in November.
